Judah, Valen, and Malachi never wanted a woman to stay on Black Hollow Isle. But Brielle was willed to Judah and they didn't have a choice. None of them trusted her to be in their world, but here she was. Brielle wanted nothing to do with the world her father tried to escape. But being forced back in she finds these 3 protecting her even though they don't think they can trust her.
