This is my first read by Nicolina Martin. For sure not for the faint of heart. Lots of scenes from hell, but Carmen is one of the strongest women I have ever read about. Having left her house at an early age and having no one, she has found the only way she knows how to stay alive and have a roof over her head. Now she just needs to survive everything that's coming her way.
Lucas is a young man with dreams of becoming part of the mob, but can he do the things they want him to do? He is just a driver now and has to drive Carmen to Salvatore's house of hell. But when he sees her for the first time he feels something he never thought he would. He feels alive and wants to spend all of his time with her.
