Layla has sworn off men and relationships, but her mother witnessing her getting pulled over again Layla decides to her up. She grabs the officer, who happens to be someone she has known forever and kissed him in seventh grade, and she kisses him and tells her mother she's seeing him. But when Layla kisses Will it blows both their minds. They shared a kiss years ago but had moved on from it. Now Will just coming out of a divorce has given up on relationships too, but this kiss throws him off his balance. Now pretending to be in a relationship and spending time together they both realize giving up on love might not be the right choice.
